ÆVO was responsible for managing and maintaining the Vlaketunnel and the Dampoort Aqueduct from Rijkswaterstaat. The tunnel was opened in 1975 and consists of two tubes, each with two lanes. The tunnel lies under the canal through South-Beveland and forms a crucial connection between West-Brabant and Walcheren/Zeeland.
